The Fox Hole

So my readers, as few of you as there are... how many would be interested in a regular/semi-regular blog of me sprouting about fencing? Just thought I would put it out there as there may be some people who would be interested. Give me some indication and I will give it some thought.

Now for a subject of interest for some and annoyance for others. Yes, I am talking about zombies. No, I am not talking about IRA operatives, but the living dead. So we have seen Resident Evil and all its sequels, 28 Days Later and its sequel, and various other movies come out in the last couple of years. Before this people would think "Zombies? Go look in the B to D Grade movies." Now they are in multi-million movies, and have a franchise of books, games and much other paraphenalia. So we really can call it a "return of the living dead". I suppose it can be said that most things go through similar phases, vampires, werewolves and so forth. They provokes in us something other-worldly, something dark, a place where we mostly do not go in our ordinary lives, and all it takes is one little spark for them to become popular. This in itself provokes another question, will the zombie stay on top or will it be replaced by something else? What next dark thing will spark our interest? What other-worldly creature will capture our imaginations and keep us occupied for a period of time? Just something to have a think about.

Hi All,

 

Just letting people know that I will *not* be getting Dominos Pizza EVER again due to their performance tonight. It seeems that they cannot build a pizza correctly, and when they do it incorrectly you have the choice of a replacement or store credit, but if the second one is wrong, this is where the problem starts. Sure they will replace this one free of charge or get a refund, so long as you take the wrong one back to them. This is a bit of a problem when you're reliant on public transport and it is past 9:30 at night. This is your only recourse. As a result of this situation I will not be ordering another pizza from Dominos, they have lost my patronage.

I have just added an image of the new T-shirt for the upcoming Fencing Fest V. These are available for order at a price of $25 up until July 2008. Get in quick as these will be popular. Have a look at the album "Fencing Fest V" for the image of what will be on the front of the shirt. They will all be long-sleeved and black with white writing and image on them. If you are ordering a t-shirt, don't forget to also advise me of your size.

I have added pictures that were taken with my digital camera at Fencing Fest IV. I figured that these were a good addition to the lot that I already have put on here. I have other pictures taken from the same event by other people as well. It was a great event and I am looking forward to next year's Fencing Fest as it looks like it is going to be *big*. It seems that my "nice, quiet, little event" is turning into the premiere rapier event for the Kingdom of Lochac, hey, not that I am complaining. Needless to say I am expecting big things to be happening in the years to come. Well, I am starting to ramble, already, so I will finish this one and may be back relatively soon to do another one... not likely, but maybe. :-)
